Our first Orpington chicks of 2015 so cute there are three buffs and three gold laced crossed to buff chicks. the crosses are from one of my favorite hens Gerdie who survived all of those wicked wounds she had.

All six chicks have hatched now, four are in the brooder the other two are just finishing fluffing up in the incubator. I am extremely happy with this hatch these little guys survived a humidity pump death two power outages and a few other challenges.
Today the power went out for about three and a half hours the incubator got down to 74°F so here is hoping they are okay. only four days until I can candle.
25 eggs are going in the incubator 5 Gold Laced Orpingtons, 2 Buff's and 18 Gold Laced crosses. I am not expecting anything with this hatch the GL Rooster is in with 19 hens/pullets next week we will be separating them.
the incubator is up and running as soon as I figure out the humidity we will be rocking and rolling.
We gathered two Gold Laced, one Buff and four Gold Laced crosses they will be going into the incubator soon
YAY I just weighed the Gold Laced Orpingtons the cockerel is 9.3lbs, the two youngest pullets are just over 6lbs at six months and the oldest pullet is 6.5lbs at seven months old.
We are slowly introducing the babies to the flock, Weirdo is our go to bird for first contact. She is the smallest hen we have and the lowest on the hierarchy and she seems to like the younger birds.
