Blue Orpingtons Not available for 2015
With beautiful lacing and splashes of color these wonderful birds are sure to be an eye catcher in any flock. We decided to branch out into the Blue/Black/Splash in early 2013, as such we have a very small breeding flock to work with and ask for your patience. We are very happy with our flock, wonderful personalities and mild temperaments make these beauties so much fun.
Breeding blue to blue will quickly result in the loss of crisp lacing, to keep a crisp lacing you need to breed a black preferably from a non Blue/Black/Splash mating into your flock.
The following combinations are achievable when breeding Blue Orpington:
Blue X Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Black, 25% Splash
Blue X Black = 50% Blue, 50% Black
Blue X Splash = 50% Blue, 50% Splash
Black X Black = 100% Black
Splash X Splash = 100% Splash
Splash X Black = 100% Blue
